1 Scope
ThispartofGB/Tspecifiesmechanicalandphysicalpropertiesofbolts,screwsandstudsmadeofcarbonsteeloralloysteelwhentestedatanambientenvironmenttemperaturerangeof10℃to35℃.Withintherangeofthisenvironmenttemperature,asforfasteners(includingbolts,screwsandstuds,thesamebelow)thatconformtothetechnicalrequirementsofthispart,athigher(SeeAppendixB)and/orlowertemperature,theyarepossibletofailtoconformtothespecifiedmechanicalandphysicalproperties.
Note1:Fastenersconformingtotherequirementsofthispartareusedinapplicationsfrom-50℃~to+℃.Usersareadvisedtoconsultwiththepartiesconcernedfortemperaturesoutsidetherangeof-50℃~to+℃anduptoamaximumtemperatureof+℃.
Note2:Informationfortheselectionandapplicationoflowtemperatureandhightemperaturesteelsisgiven,forexample,inEN[1],ASTMF[3]andASTMA/AM[4].
Certainfastenersmightnotfulfillthetensileortorsionrequirementsofthispartbecausethegeometryoftheirheadsreducestheshearareainthehead.Theseincludefastenershavingalowhead,withorwithoutexternaldrivingfeature,alowroundorcylindricalheadwithinternaldrivingfeatureoracountersunkheadwithinternaldrivingfeature(seeClause8.2).
